Committee thanks the supporters

The Birkirkara FC committee would like to thank the numerous supporters that made it to the Hibernians Ground yesterday to support the First Team in the home match of the Europe League First Qualifying Round.

These supporters proved that it was the correct decision to open the gates for free on this occasion, as their large number and excellent behaviour provided the extra stimulus to the players on the pitch.

The coordination between the Supporters Sub-Committee, the Club's stewards and the Birkirkara Ultras Group is commendable.

In a comment to this website, Club President Mr Joseph Zammit said “The support was superb and exemplary. The continuous support was positive in nature and only directed at our team. Racism was never a real issue with Birkirkara FC because it is thanks to the sterling service of black players in the past that we have been taking part in UEFA games for 16 years. Our supporters proved themselves during the match by turning up in a large number and by showing respect to everybody involved.”
