In their second league match, our Under-17s made them two wins out of two by comfortably beating the Zabbar counterparts 3-1 at Mosta grounds, having conceded the goal when the score was already 3-0.

As the scoreline might suggest, the Stripes had most of the ball, and alternated good attacking moves with long range efforts. It was a combination of bad luck, lack of precision and good goal keeping by St. Patricks number 1 that prevented Birkirkara to score more goals, but on three occasions neither of the three came to St. Patrick's rescue as Kurt Zammit hit 2 goals and Leon Zammit bagging the third for his team. The 3 goals were all fruit of excellent through passes and clinical finishing. It was in the last 5 minutes that St. Patricks grabbed a consolation goal after a goal-mouth scramble.

Coach Mr Marko Glumac was upbeat with his team's performance. “We are improving as a team, all players are giving their maximum effort to perform well as individuals in service of the team and result. The atmosphere in the team is fantastic, it is our boys' strength and is driving them in every game and training session. The desire to improve and achieve positive result is there for all to see during matches.”

The Under-17s next match is versus Melita at Melita's own grounds on Sunday 7th October. Kick off time is 13:00.
