Birkirkara aim to bounce back

Birkirkara will be aiming to return to winning ways in their sixth league match, against Tarxien Rainbows which will be played this afternoon.

Following a perfect start by registering four wins out of four, Birkirkara suffered their first loss against Sliema Wanderers with a 3-1 score. Before this match, Birkirkara defeated Melita, Balzan Youths, Rabat Ajax and Floriana respectively.

On the other hand, Tarxien are coming from two consecutive victories over Balzan Youths and Melita respectively. In their first three matches, they lost to Valletta and Sliema Wanderers and shared the spoils with Hamrun Spartans.

Birkirkara are third with 12 points, three behind joint leaders Valletta and Hibernians, who will be facing each other right after Birkirkara's match. On the other hand, Tarxien are in the seventh place with seven points.

Last season these two teams met twice. Following a surprising 3-2 win for ‘The Rainbows' in the first round, Birkirkara won the second round match with a 3-1 score.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 15:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 14:00.
