Birkirkara registered a very comfortable win thanks to a five star performance, when they defeated Tarxien Rainbows with a score of 4-1.

Without any doubt, one of the best players in today's game was the Spanish striker who managed to find the net no less than three times. There were other players who had a great outing. The Brazilian defender was once again solid and precise in everything. Trevor Cilia also had a good performance after returning from a minor injury. Jorge Mora in the second half made several fine saves to deny Tarxien the chance to reduce the gap.

Mr. Patrick Curmi started the match with a 4-1-4-1 formation: Jorge Mora defending the posts, Brazilian and Cameroon foreigners forming the central back while Joseph Zerafa and Angus Buhagiar patrolling the side backs. A Pakistani defender started in the role of defensive midfielder, Trevor Cilia and Leighton Grech on the wings while Andrew Decesare and Gareth Sciberras as central midfielders. The Spanish player was the only striker in the starting line up.

On the 4th minute, Joseph Zerafa served the Spanish striker who advanced in the box and tried his luck but his shot was saved by David Cassar.

Birkirkara went ahead on the 9th minute when Andrew Decesare served Joseph Zerafa who left the ball for Trevor Cilia, advanced on the wing and his perfect cross was met with a perfect header by the Spanish striker to give Cassar no chance and open the score.

On the 18th minute mark, Joseph Zerafa's cross found the Spanish striker who saw his diagonal shot being saved by Cassar.

Tarxien had their first attempt on the 20th minute but it ended wide.

On the 26the minute, a header for Tarxien ended wide from an inviting cross from the left.

On the 35th minute Birkirkara doubled their lead, and the Spanish striker scored his second goal. A perfect cross from Andrew Decesare was met by the Spaniard, who lobbed over Cassar and slotted the ball into an empty net.

Angus Buhagiar tried his luck with a cross shot which ended wide, on the 40th minute.

In the last opportunity for the first half, Trevor Cilia's shot ended wide after being served well by Joseph Zerafa.

The first half ended in a 2-0 lead for Birkirkara.

In the second half Birkirkara continued to be the most aggressive team, although, one must say that Tarxien played better football, however Birkirkara definitely deserved the three points.

Two became three when Brazilian defender served the Spanish striker, who sent a perfect through ball to Leighton Grech and in a one versus one situation against Cassar he decided to pass to the Spanish striker and once again he slotted the ball into an empty net to make the score 3-0.

Tarxien tried to react and in fact they reduced the gap when Daniel Mariano Bueno beats Mora with a low shot to make the score 3-1.

Daniel almost scored his second goal when he was well served and in a one versus one situation, Mora blocked his powerful shot, and from the rebound the same striker hit the post and the action ended in a goal kick.

Less than one minute later, it was Birkirkara's turn to hit the post when a perfect cross from the right, youngster Ryan Camenzuli tried a low tap in but the ball hit the post.

Ryan was denied in his first attempt, but not in the second one. Once again it was from a cross from the right and this time the 16 year old fired a powerful first time volley to give Cassar no chance. A breath taking goal if there ever was one.

After this goal, the match reduced a bit its level although Tarxien tried to close the gap. However Mora had other plans and he put on a five star performance. First he saved a powerful shot from outside the area and later on he saved another fine shot which was turned into a corner kick. From the same corner, Mora performed another save to dispel the danger.

The full time whistle found the Birkirkara supporters pleased with a very positive performance. Birkirkara will be involved in their last game of the tournament when they will face Vittoriosa on Friday.
