Women's Team aims to bounce back

by Ayrton Galea - 19th November 2012

The Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be all out to return to winning ways and keep the pace with the leaders when they will start as favourites when they take on newly promoted Tarxien Rainbows on Tuesday evening.

Following beating Hibernians with a comfortable 3-1 score, Birkirkara once again regained confidence. However in the last match against Gozo, Birkirkara had to make a two goal comeback to earn something from the match and despite good resilience, they managed to take only a point, and they failed to make the best from the 1-1 draw between Hibernians and leaders Mosta.

On the other hand, Tarxien are still finding it difficult to adapt, after getting promoted from the 2nd Division. So far they have only managed to win a point, when they shared the spoils with Hamrun Spartans, who are also newly promoted, in a 1-1 draw. Before this match, Tarxien had suffered three defeats against Mosta, Mgarr and Pembroke Athleta respectively.

Matches like these can prove to be tricky ones for the best team on paper and without any doubt, as the Women's Team coach Mr. Johann Scicluna surely pointed this out for his players.

The match will be played at the Sirens Grounds and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
