Birkirkara U19 to face Qormi

by Ayrton Galea - 6th December 2012

Birkirkara Under 19 team will be aiming to maintain their place on top of the table when today evening they will face Qormi in a tricky encounter.

With Valletta held by Pieta Hotspurs and Birkirkara registering a fine win over Hamrun Spartans with a 2-1 score, Birkirkara climbed to the top of the table on equal points with Valletta. This win also helped Birkirkara bounce back following the 3-1 defeat against Mosta in the previous match.

On the other hand, today's opponents Qormi will be all out to pick up a precious three points, as they have gone four matches without a win. Their last victory goes back to the 25 October when they defeated Floriana with a solitary goal. Since then, they had two defeats against Hibernians and Pieta Hotspurs respectively, and two identical 1-1 draws against St. Andrew's and St. Patrick's.

While Birkirkara are on top of the table with 12 points from six matches, Qormi are second from bottom with five points from the same amount of matches. A win for Birkirkara will keep them on top of the table till the next and much awaited match against Valletta. A win for Qormi would boost their morale and increase their confidence.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
