Birkirkara to face Hibernians in Women's League

by Ayrton Galea - 29th January 2013

In the Women's League, champions Birkirkara will be aiming to move back in second place when in a much awaited match, they take on Hibernians.

After winning four consecutive matches with high scores, Birkirkara's winning run was haltedby Mosta as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the top of the table clash, with the Stripes scoring the equalising goal just five minutes from time thanks to an excellent strike by Stephania Farrugia.

On the other hand, Hibernians made the best out of this result as they defeated Hamrun Spartans with a very comfortable 8-0 score to overtake Birkirkara and moving to the second place while they narrowed the gap to just one point behind leaders Mosta.

In the first round, Birkirkara defeated Hibernians with a 3-1 score, thanks to a brace by Rachel Cuschieri and a goal by Gabriella Zahra.

The match will be played at the Luxol Grounds and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.

Come on the stripes!
