Women's Team to face Pembroke

by Ayrton Galea - 5th March 2013

Birkirkara Women's Team will be all out to end their second round commitments on a good note as this evening they will be hoping to extend their positive run when they face Pembroke.

With Friday's top of the table clash between Mosta and Hibernians ending in a 1-1 draw, this result put Birkirkara just three points behind the leaders, with the title race remaining wide open.

Birkirkara's morale is definitely high after three consecutive victories against Gozo, Tarxien and the last hard-fought match against Mgarr United which the Stripes won with a 2-1 score.

On the other hand, Pembroke made a bounce back following the 3-0 defeat against present leaders Mosta as they defeated bottom-placed Hamrun by trashing them with a 7-2 score.

Birkirkara are second with 30 points joint with Hibernians, three points under sole leaders Mosta while Pembroke are on the sixth position, third from bottom with 15 points.

Birkirkara won the first round encounter with an 8-0 score.

The match will be played at the Pembroke Grounds and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
