A message for the supporters

by Dr. Adrian Delia - 11th May 2013

I have a dream. That one day my children will ask me what was my greatest success. I have a dream. That one day my children will want to know which the happiest day of my life was. I have a dream that one day my children will wonder what it was that made me proudest.

I have a dream. That on that day I will tell them: I wanted to get into football because I love sport. I will tell them: That everyone told me that football should not be that sport because it's dirty and corrupt. I will tell them: That I persisted, I persevered, I went all out, against all advice, all odds, and all accepted practice. I will tell them: That it wasn't easy, at all, and everyday every single day I would find someone who would tell me I would fail. And I will tell them: That I did not give up. I kept on fighting - Till the end, everyday, till today - Against everyone, against the system, against all odds.

I have a dream. That in the end I will succeed. That everyday someone came to tell me that he's with me. That every single day one other person understood that this is the right thing to do. The only way to do it.

I have a dream that I will tell my children that on one day just one day on a Saturday evening in the month of May. We won. We won against all odds. We won the right way. We won the only way we should Because on that day on that one day I was not alone.

We were together. We were players. We were technical team. We were coaches. We were committee. We were supporters. We were ultras. We were there. At a game. At the game. In our hundreds. In our thousands. And I will tell my children that they were there too. Because we believed. Because that day we knew would be our day. Because we were right. Because we were together. Because we were Birkirkara.

I have a dream. That day is today.
