Birkirkara and Valletta seek first win in Euro Cup

by Ayrton Galea - 22nd June 2013

Birkirkara will be involved in the second match of the Euro Cup Friendly Tournament this evening when the present Champions will face arch rivals Valletta.

Despite losing the first match to Sliema Wanderers with a 3-1 score, the Stripes surely left the pitch satisfied, not with the result, but with the promising youngsters that left a good impression which makes the Club optimistic about its future.

On the other hand, Valletta begin their commitments with a 1-1 draw against Hibernians. The Citizens were denied from the win just three minutes from time as the Paolites were awarded a penalty which Obinna Obiefule converted to equalise for Hibernians.

Despite both teams will be looking for the first win in the competition, they will once again be expected to make use of several youngsters and foreigners who are currently on trial with their respective clubs.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and it is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
