Women's Coach share his views

by Ayrton Galea - 3rd September 2013

Just one day away from the highly anticipated Women's Super Cup between Champions Birkirkara and Hibernians, the Women's Coach, Mr. Johann Scicluna shared his views before the first domestic honour of the season. Birkirkara won both the league and the knock-out, so they were meant to face Mosta who came second in the league. However, Mosta pulled out of competitive football this week, and third-placed Hibernians took their place.

“After whole weeks without knowing who our opponent will be, at last it was decided that we are going to play against Hibernians FC. However, the players and myself stayed concentrated and highly motivated so that this year we will win the treble, a target that we have already reached in the 2008-2009 season with most of the players that are still forming part of the squad.

“I'm expecting that like every final, it will be an entertaining and a balanced match. I'm not worried about the fact that Hibernians strengthened their squad because we have strengthened ours as well, while keeping as the base of the team the players that we have produced in the last years.

“I'm asking you, all the Birkirkara supporters that have our team at heart, that together with the committee of the Women's Team, to come and support us to bring the first honour of this season to Valley Road.”
