Supporters behaviour during matches

by Ivan Mizzi - 18th September 2013

Birkirkara FC will today be in the accusation hearing that a supporter threw a bottle on the pitch earlier this month. During the last match, played last Sunday, in the official match report, it was reported that another bottle was thrown on the pitch. This is the fourth time, in as many months, that such an incident was reported.

Birkirkara FC deplores fully and unconditionally this and similar irresponsible behaviour, that goes against the spirit of the match, and is harming the Club on many levels, and tarnishing its image. Besides the fines that the Club has to pay, further actions may be taken against the Club, such as deduction of points and ordering the match to be played behind closed doors.

While the Club would like to thank its numerous supporters for their continuous support, and their exemplary behaviour in the large majority, it has to point out that such acts have to end with immediate effect. If such an incident has to repeat itself, the Club will have no choice but to ask the MFA to play its matches behind closed doors.

The Club will also be seeking to identify the culprits of these incidents, and will be collaborating fully with the authorities. Anybody who can stop in time, or report these incidents, will be helping the Club and is encouraged to do so.

Once again the Club thanks the supporters who have the Club's interest at heart, and hopes that these incidents will never be repeated again.
