Birkirkara Under-17's Team suffered a setback on Sunday morning as they failed to keep the pace with their opponents Pieta Hotspurs and they were defeated with a 4-0 score.

Pieta were on the front foot from the first minutes of the game as they managed to close down the Stripes in the defensive half to make their objectives clear from the early stages of the match. At the beginning, the young Stripes were holding strong in keeping Pieta away from the danger zone but after the first goal, the game was reduced to a one way traffic, ending the first half three goals down and with a mountain to climb.

In the second half the Stripes were a marginally improved side as they managed to create the odd goal scoring opportunity. Pieta managed to seal the game by scoring their fourth goal. Unfortunately, the young Stripes put a disappointing showing to their names after a string of encouraging performances. They now look to put in hard work and determination to return to show a positive performance in their next outing.
