Women's Team aim to bounce back

by Ayrton Galea - 12th November 2013

Birkirkara Women's Team will be seeking to deliver a statement of their true potential this evening, when they face Gozo in another difficult match.

The Stripes had a fine start to the league campaign by notching three consecutive victories, but an inferior performance against Hibernians led them to concede the first defeat with a 2-0 score. The Stripes were coming from three victories. The first two were against Pembroke and Kirkop with an identical 3-0 score, and then against Raiders with a very comfortable 8-1 score.

Gozo have been strengthened with several new signings since last season, are they are considered as one of the main title challengers for this season. The Gozitians made a perfect launch in their league campaign with four straight wins by beating Mgarr United 4-2, Pembroke Athleta 3-1, Kirkop 4-1 and Raiders 6-2.

However, their winning streak was brought to an end in their last match as despite giving a good performance, they were beaten 3-0 by Hibernians.

Without doubt, both teams will be eager to return to winning ways.

The match is going to be played at the Pembroke Athleta Grounds and is scheduled to kick off at 18:00.

Come on the Stripes!
