Birkirkara Under-15's Team extended their unbeaten run in the APS Bank Under-15's League when last Sunday, in the top of the table clash, they shared the spoils with Kirkop United in a draw of 1-1.

Following the previous week's triumph over Fgura United in the Knockout Competition, the team had another encouraging performance and they enjoyed an edge over their opponents for most of the time. Birkirkara took the lead in the first half, but then Kirkop improved in the second half and they managed to equalize to leave the stadium with one point each to show for their efforts.

The First Half

With the Stripes seeking to bounce back from their last league defeat against Tarxien, they went out on an aggressive note and they took only a few minutes before they begin to surge forward.

The tactical difference between the two sides was evident, as the Stripes were being superior and showing the best ideas on the pitch.

With the Stripes putting pressure on their opponents, it was little surprise they managed to surge ahead thanks to Karl Caruana, whose effort hit past the goalkeeper.

The end of the first-half saw the Stripes leading by one goal to nil.

The Second Half

With one goal up, the Stripes continued where they left off in the first thirty-five minutes. They continued to dominate their opponents and showing the best ideas.

However, Kirkop did not throw in the towel. They kept fighting and their resilience was awarded. In one of their fast counterattacks, fifteen minutes into the second-half, they managed to score the equaliser.

Although this goal boosted Kirkop, the Stripes did not give up. They showed brilliant attitude to regain the lead, and if they had been more careful in front of goal, they could have regained the lead. However, the score did not change, and the final whistle found Birkirkara remaining on top of the table, one point ahead of the same Kirkop.
