Isabelle Mazzitelli moves to Mgarr United FC

by Ivan Mizzi - 6th December 2013

Isabelle Mazzitelli has sought a new experience in her football career as the thirty year old joined Mgarr United FC on a permanent transfer, to bring to an end her twelve year spell with our Club.

Since joining our Club in Season 2001-2002, she lifted no less than eighteen cups. She won the league five times, nine times the Knock-out and four times the Super Cup. She also took part in four different editions of the Women's UEFA Champions League.

Isabelle will be most remembered for last season's decisive goal in the added time of the last match of the league against Mosta, which was decisive in winning the league. She also played an essential role in the Knock-out when her decisive goal enabled the Stripes to defeat Pembroke and advance to the Semi Final. The Stripes went on to win the Women's knock-out.

This season, the women's squad continued to be strengthened, and Isabelle found it hard to win a regular place. During this season, she made five appearances, starting four matches from the beginning while she was included once as a substitute.

We would like to thank Isabelle for her sterling service towards our Club, while wishing her all the best of luck in her football career and her personal life.
