Birkirkara Under-19's Team opened a five point lead at the top of the table when they chalked up their sixth consecutive victory in the Youths League Section A by beating Mosta with a score of 2-1.

The Stripes once again delivered a bold statement of their title aspirations for this season as despite having to struggle more than expected, the team showed great attitude to overcome a resilient Mosta side.

Antoine Borg put the Stripes ahead in the first half. Following a good build-up, Russell Gatt served the Borg, who beat the goalkeeper with a low shot. However, Mosta equalised in the first half to end the first forty-five minutes in a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, the Stripes did not give up, and they kept pushing for the win. Kurt Zammit's volley hit the post, and from the rebound Russell Gatt De Raffaele notched the winner.

The Stripes will now be involved in the top of the table clash against Hamrun Spartans, where they will be hoping to extend their brilliant form. The match will be played on the 13 December at the Sirens Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 14:00.
