Women's Team hot favourites to keep marching on

by Ayrton Galea - 9th December 2013

Birkirkara Women's Team will start as favourites to secure their third consecutive victory and maintain the pressure on leaders Hibernians when tomorrow evening they will face bottom-placed, Pembroke Athleta FC.

After losing to Hibernians, the Stripes enjoyed a good streak of matched. First they defeated Gozo with a score of 4-0 score, then they kept their momentum to overcome the resilient challenge of Mgarr with a win of 2-1.

The 2-1 victory over Mgarr brought to an end the first round commitments which saw the Stripes in the second place, three points under leaders Hibernians, who trashed Pembroke to the tune of 9-1 in their last match.

Pembroke, who are in the bid of avoiding the relegation drop, are still seeking their first points as they have lost all their six matches. They scored just four goals while they conceded twenty-six goals.

In the first round, Birkirkara defeated Pembroke Athleta 3-0 score thanks to three goals in the second half.

The match will be played at the Pembroke Athleta Grounds and it scheduled to kick-off at 20:15.

Come on the Stripes!
