FIFA Live Your Goals Open Day

The Malta Football Association will be hosting the FIFA Live Your Goals Open Day on Saturday, 27 December at the Centenary Stadium from 09:00 till 12:00.

Today there are 29 million women and girls playing football worldwide. By means of a nationwide ‘FIFA Live Your Goals' campaign and free open days carrying this slogan the MFA is expected to generate another fresh surge of enthusiasm among girls between 6 and 11 years of age.

The 'Live Your Goals' initiative was launched by FIFA to build enthusiasm for football among girls and women around the world and inspire as many as possible to take up the game. One of these young women who took their first steps into the game at a ‘Live Your Goals' Festival might perhaps also appear on a future shortlist!

Following this idea, once again the MFA is hosting the first Free Open Day for Girls for this season. This event ‘LIVE YOUR GOALS' open day will be held at the Centenary Stadium on the 27th December 2014. As usual, we shall have our professional national team coaches and national team players at the event. There will also be our ambassadors Charlene Farrugia and Dorienne Theuma to make it more pleasant and interesting for the girls taking part.

Football is for you too – come along with your friends and have fun trying out all the different games with us! The games are fun, easy and fair.

If you are interested in keeping fit and healthy in a fun environment and join in a team sport this is the sport for you. Join a local club and who knows – maybe one day you will be representing your country at the next FIFA Women's World Cup!

The MFA's vision and plans for the next four years are assisting the clubs further and increasing the number of qualified female coaches and also young girls at grassroots level. The aim is to widen the area of participation among the younger generation in the 6 to 11 category while also organising the Under 11 festival (the venue will be at Pembroke mini pitch) on a fortnightly basis in order to retain the young girls in the football fold.

If you are a girl aged between 6 and 11 join us for a fun-filled day on the 27th of December from 9.00am to 12.00pm.
