by Ivan Mizzi - 20th January 2015

Birkirkara FC made the second signing in the January Transfer Markey when they acquired the services of Bosnian goalkeeper Mirza Hamzabegovic.

Mirza is a twenty-four year old goalkeeper who is considered as a very promising goalkeeper in Bosnia and this is his first experience outside his country.

Mirza is a product of NK Podgrmec in which he was given the chance to play with the Senior Team in the 2010-2011 season. In 2011, he was named the most successful man in sport in Bosnia to crown his hard work and continuous progress.

During last season, he was on the books of the Bosnian side NK Bratstvo Gračanica in the Prva liga which is the second division of the country. He is highly considered as one of the best five goalkeepers in the country and was voted the league's best player for the month of November. He was the number one choice between the posts and he had twenty-five appearances with an incredible twenty clean-sheets.

We would like to welcome Mirza while wishing him all the best in his adventure with our Club.
