Birkirkara FC and Pieta Hotspurs FC shared the spoils in a goalless stalemate,on Saturday afternoon, in the third match of the Under-15's League, with the Stripes dropping their first points despite having an edge over their opponents.

Birkirkara came into the match determined to continue were they left off in previous matches, but were denied victory by a resolute Pieta side who defended well and managed to hold on to a draw, notwithstanding that most of the game was played in their half. Pieta's intentions were made very clear from the by fielding a 4-5-1 formation, and their objective was clearly to defend and try to salvage a draw.

On the 30th minute, an excellent opportunity to take the lead was wasted. Following a good cross from the right flank to Ayrton Attard, who was unmarked with only Pieta's keeper to beat, saw his shot going high.

The first half ended in a goal-less draw.

The second half was a photocopy of the first half, with the Stripes dominating and playing in Pieta's half, but the latter's determination and aided with some good luck, paid off. Several other goal scoring opportunities were created by Aryton, Karl and Kyle but they were not clinical in their finishing.

On top, from start to finish, our boys were the most enterprising team, dominating throughout the match , but although they created several chances to win , they lacked the focus to translate their supremacy into goals, leaving them rather disappointed.

The 0-0 result leaves Birkirkara leading the table with 2 points over Pieta and Hibernians.

BIRKIRKARA: Clyde Aquilina, Braden Calleja, Miguel Amato, Romario Camillieri, Briam Mifsud, Nicholas Farrugia, Ayrton Attard, Zak Grech, Ryan Tonna (60' Aiden Micallef), Kyle Mifsud, Karl Caruana.
