Birkirkara FC Girls Under-16's Team's seasons commitments came to an end on Sunday morning, when a fine performance was not enough to stop Gozo in the Girls Under-16's Preliminary Round in the knockout competition, when the latter advanced with a 3-1 score.

Gozo broke the deadlock on the thirteenth minute when Maria Farrugia's cross-shot surprised goalkeeper Jennifer Galea to put her side ahead. Six minutes later, they made them two when Farrugia was in action once again by delivering a low corner and unmarked Valentina Rapa hit home from close-range. The first-half ended with Gozo enjoying a two goal lead.

The Stripes opened the second half more aggressive and they were awarded five minutes into the second half when Samantha Zarb served Sarah Urpani, with the latter's strike hitting past the goalkeeper. Birkirkara continued to push forward but it was Gozo who sealed the issue with the third goal three minutes from time, following another short corner, and this time it was Greta Grima who hit from inside the box.
