Birkirkara Women's Team, Hibernians in KO Semi-final

by Ayrton Galea - 12th May 2015

Knockout Holders Birkirkara FC Women's Team will be all out to put the league title disappointment behind them, and make it to this year's Knockout Final, when this evening they take on Hibernians FC.

Winners for twelve times in the last sixteen years, and current holders Knockout Trophy, the Stripes will be seeking to keep the cup home for the third year running, and clinch their first honour of the season.

The Stripes reached the Semi-Finals after they eliminated Mgarr United with a goal by Rebecca Chircop in the extra-time period. On the other hand, Hibernians faced much weaker opposition, when they were drawn against Swieqi United, and they won 5-0.

This season there was a perfect balance between Birkirkara and Hibernians in the direct clashes, as they won a match each, with the other match ending in a 1-1 draw. The Stripes won the first-round match 2-0, and the second-round match ended in a 1-1 draw before Hibernians won the third and final match with a 2-1 score.

The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.

We would like to encourage you to come to the stadium and support our Women's Team. Your support makes a difference.

Come on the Stripes!
