by Ivan Mizzi - 30th June 2015

Birkirkara FC have appointed Mr. Steven Vella as the Under-19's Team Coach for Season 2015-2016.

Mr. Vella. holds a UEFA A Coaching License, and is a fully qualified Football Physical Trainer. He enjoys over a decade experience of coaching. Last season he was the Assistant Coach of the Senior Team of Tarxien Rainbows FC.

Steven Vella told us, “I chose Birkirkara FC because it is one of the best Maltese Clubs which has been consistent throughout the past years both at senior level and in the youths sector. B'kara is a dynamic and well organised Club with a good technical & administrative setup. Moreover, in the last years B'kara introduced a number of youth players who established themselves in the Maltese Premier League. Having said all that, I'm privileged to form part of this set-up and looking forward to start the season.”

He added, “My first impression of the Club was very positive. I found a group of people who are well organised and motivated to work. My targets for next season are to have a well organised Youth Team. I want to continue the players' development and refine their technical, tactical and physical abilities. I want to have players who are ready to form part of the senior team when the need arises. In the youths league we should try to take points from each game by playing as a team with a particular style of play which will give us an identity. Last but not least, I would like to have players who are called up to play for the National Team.”

We would like to welcome Mr. Vella and wish him all the best of luck.
