Three Birkirkara FC Youth Academy products, Justin Tonna, Dylan Aquilina and Clint Zammit are having their first taste of European Competitions in an away match.

Goalkeeper Justin Tonna, who was called up five times during the previous BOV Premier League campaign, said, “This is a big motivation and fills me with courage to continue working with this rhythm in football. To be part of the contingent for this important match, at this very young age is very important for me. I have to be concentrated and prepared, because if the occasion comes, I have to give my best to make all sacrifices count”.

Former Under-19's Team Captain, Dylan Aquilina, made his debut with the Senior Team last season. He said, “Every game is important but a game like this means more. I need to continue working to be prepared for what might happen. I would really like to thank all my team-mates, coaches and technical staff for all their help and encouragement to help me develop my talents and correct me when I do mistakes, in order to improve my level.”

On the other hand, Clint Zammit is the youngest player of the contingent as he is only eighteen years old. “To be part of the contingent for this important match is another important step in my career. I'm training with a set of players, that when I was younger, I used to admire them, and now I am part of them For me, it means that I'm on the right track and I'm getting rewarded for my sacrifices. My targets are to continue improving my level, and to make it with the Senior Team in the shortest time possible.”
