Birkirkara FC Girls Under-16's Team registered their second victory in the league to stay with maximum points when this morning they produced an emphatic display to beat Raiders with a 4-0 score thanks to a hat-trick by Mariah Sciberras and another goal by Sarah Urpani.

Have launched their league campaign in style after beating Zebbug Rangers with a 5-1 score, the Stripes went on winning their second match with another comfortable score as three goals in the first half paved the way for a 4-0 victory.

The Stripes surged ahead after eighth minute. Mariah Sciberras and Samantha Zarb combined well to penetrate with Raiders only able to short clear the danger and the ball fell to Sciberras who hit an excellent strike past the Raiders goalkeeper from outside the box.

Raiders replied with a direct free-kick which was turned into a corner kick, but from the resulting corner kick, the Stripes made them two just a minute after taking the lead. They were quick to transfer the ball forward with Michela Felice serving Mariah Sciberras who had a powerful low shot beating the Raiders goalkeeper.

Birkirkara made them three on the twenty-first minute. Samantha Zarb showed great technique to shift the ball to the unmarked Sarah Urpani. The latter proved her dribbling skills by getting past his marker and cut inside the box before her well-placed shot hit past the goalkeeper.

In the opening stages of the second half, both teams were unlucky to be denied by the post. First, on the thirty-third minute, Raiders had a direct free-kick hitting the upright while four minutes later, Michela Felice raced forward and her shot hit the foot of the post.

Birkirkara were unlucky by the post for the second time on the forty-fourth minute. Sarah Urpani found space inside the box and her shot was blocked by the goalkeeper with the same player having her rebound smashing against the crossbar.

After Michela Felice had a penalty saved by the goalkeeper five minutes from time, Birkirkara sealed the issue two minutes later.
