Birkirkara FC Under-15's Team registered their second consecutive draw in the APS Bank Under-15's League Section A on Sunday morning when they held leaders Pieta Hotspurs FC in a 1-1 draw.

Following a narrow 1-0 victory over Balzan in the opening match of the league, the Stripes shared a goal-less draw against Hibernians before winning another point in the 1-1 draw against Pieta Hotspurs last Sunday.

The first half was a balanced affair with our boys doing well to control Pieta's midfield players. However, Pieta surged ahead on the twenty-eighth minute from a perfectly taken direct free-kick outside the penalty area.

Down by one, in the second half, Birkirkara showed their character and by showing great determination they pushed Pieta into their half. On the fiftieth minute, a well taken free-kick by Michele Vella smashed against the up-right for the Stripes.

Birkirkara kept pressing for the equaliser and they were rewarded for their efforts on the sixty-seventh minute. Adam Camilleri dribbled his opponent down the left flank and hit a low cross which was met by Ryan Tonna who slammed the ball into the back of the net for a final 1-1 result.

BIRKIRKARA: Amara Sylla, Paul Galea, Irvine Sultana, Glenn Attard, Eathan Lethdrige, Neil Friggieri, Michele Vella, Geremia Ciranna (44' Adam Camilleri), Ryan Tonna (72' Isaac Caruana), Carlo Zammit Lonardelli, Kelvin Mallia (59' Luca Zammit).

Scorer: 67' Ryan Tonna.
