Birkirkara Girls Under-16's Team registered their third consecutive victory to end the year on a positive note when a goal in each half by Sarah Urpani and Michela Felice handed them a 2-0 victory over Kirkop United FC.

The Stripes produced a very entertaining performance as they enjoyed an edge over opponent Kirkop United for long stretches but it was a goal in each half by the team's top scorer Sarah Urpani and another one by substitute Michela Felice that handed them the three precious points.

Birkirkara surged ahead on the seventeenth minute when in a fast transition, Samantha Zarb served Sarah Urpani and the latter remained calm before placing the ball at the back of the net from close-range.

In the Second Half, the Stripes remained superior as they created a number of scoring opportunities before they doubled the lead on the thirty-eighth minute. Samantha Zarb was once again the provider as she delivered an inch-perfect corner kick that saw Michela Felice hitting home from close-range.

Birkirkara were unlucky not to score the third goal five minutes from time when Mariah Sciberras made a wonderful solo-action but her rasping shot smashed against the crossbar as the score remained unchanged.

BIRKIRKARA: Anthea Enriquez, Maria Fenech (49' Nicole Borg), Giulia Micallef, Mariah Sciberras (46' Kaycee Micallef) , Nicole Zammit (37' Michela Felice), Sarah Urpani (50' Jessica Farrugia Cross), Samantha Zarb (47' Sarah Cassar)

Scorers: 17' Sarah Urpani, 38' Michela Felice.
