by Ayrton Galea - 11th January 2016

Eight Birkirkara FC Women players have been called-up to the provisional squad of the Maltese Women's National Team, coached by Mr. Mark Gatt, to prepare for the upcoming two international friendly matches against Latvia.

Goalkeeper Janice Xuereb, Gabriella Zahra, Kim Parnis, Stephania Farrugia, Yasmeen Vella, Kelly Agius Pace, Raina Giusti and Mariah Sciberras are the players chosen by Mr. Gatt. This is the first time for Mariah Sciberras to be called to the provisional squad of the National Team, and she is forming part of the Under-19's National Team. Alishia Sultana, who is a regular member of the Maltese National Team, will be unavailable as she is recovering from an injury.

The National Team will be playing the first match on Tuesday, 19 January and on Thursday, 21 January. Both matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium and they are scheduled to kick off at 14:00.

We would like to congratulate our players for their call-up while wishing all the best of luck to the National Team.
