Four Birkirkara players selected with the Girls' U16 National Team

by Ayrton Galea - 27th January 2016

Four Birkirkara FC Girls Under-16's Team players have been selected in the twenty player list of Girls Under-16's National Team, for the UEFA Youth Development Tournament which is going to be held between the 5 and 9 February.

Samantha Zarb, Sarah Urpani, Nicole Zammit and Michela Felice are the players that were chosen by coach Dorianne Theuma. This news follows that of eight Birkirkara FC players being called with the Women's National Team two weeks ago, for the two friendly matches against Latvia.

This selection came as no surprise for the Girls Under-16's League followers, as these four players are among the key players of the team. Sarah Urpani and Samantha Zarb featured in last year's Girls Under-15's National Team friendly matches against Romania last year while Michela Felice and Nicole Zammit could be in line for their first appearance.

Malta will be playing their first match on the 5 February against Liechtenstein at the Centenary Stadium, at 14:00. On Sunday, 7 February, Malta will play against Azerbaijan in another match scheduled at the Centenary Stadium at 13:30. In the third and last match for the National Team, on Tuesday, 9 February, Malta will play against Australia. The match will be played at the Luxol Stadium and will kick off at 13:30.

We would like to congratulate our players for their selection, while wishing the best of luck to the National Team.
