Birkirkara FC Under-19's Team returned to winning ways in the Youths League Section A, when on Friday evening a goal in each half by Joseph Willy and Clint Zammit gave the Stripes a 2-0 win over Pembroke Athleta FC.

The Stripes surged ahead as early as the fifth minute. Joseph Willy had a fine solo-action on the right wing concluded with a fine effort that hit past the Pembroke goalkeeper to give his team an early lead. The first-half ended with the Stripes enjoying a 1-0 lead.

Five minutes into the second-half, Birkirkara doubled their lead thanks to Clint Zammit following an assist by Joseph Willy. Andrea Curmi and Kurt Zammit were both unlucky not to increase the margin, as they were denied by the post. Deep into the second half, Philip Schranz made a fine save to ensure a clean-sheet.
