Under-15's Team reach Knockout Final

Birkirkara FC Under-15's Team advanced to the Under-15's Knockout Final last Thursday evening. The Stripes produced a wonderful comeback and eliminated Hamrun Spartans by the penalty shoot-out after there was nothing to separate both sides with a 2-2 draw after the ninety minutes and the extra-time period.

It was Hamrun who thanks to quick two goals mid-way through the first-half opened a comfortable two-goal lead and held strong to keep their lead till the end of the first half. An inspirational half-team team-talk seemed to have motivated the Birkirkara as they pulled one goal back after just a minute thanks to Adam Camilleri and Ryan Tonna scored the equaliser just before the hour mark.

Adam Camilleri, Michelle Vella and Carlo Zammit Lonardelli scored the penalties for the Stripes while goalkeeper Amara Sylla also played an important role by saving no less than three penalties.
