Coach Drazen Besek renews his contract

Birkirkara FC has renewed the contract of Head Coach Drazen Besek with our Club. Physical Trainer Nicholas Jaro and Goalkeepers Coach Darko Stanekovic have also had their contracts renewed.

Drazen Besek took over the team in a very delicate period, when he joined our Club days before the January transfer window. He did a very satisfactory job with our Club by guiding the team to the third place of the BOV Premier League which meant a place in the UEFA Europa League, and to extended the Club's record of consecutive participation in European Competitions.

Joining our Club on the 29 December, Besek guided the team to reach its peak in the final stages of the league where their steady improvement was clear to see by winning seven out of their last nine matches, with the other two ended in a draw. Unfortunately, the Stripes were eliminated in the Semi-Final of the FA Trophy by Sliema Wanderers with a narrow 1-0 score in the final match of the season.
