Interview with Mislav Andelkovic

by Ayrton Galea - 17th August 2016

Mislav Andelkovic believes that it was the best decision to return to Birkirkara FC, a club which he described as always seeking to win more honours. He is ambitious to reach this year's targets with this team. He said this and more in a short interview.

The future of Andelkovic for the 2016-2017 was sealed in mid-July when the technical midfielder signed a fresh new contract. He made his first appearance in the first leg of the third qualifying round against Krasnodar.

Andelkovic started by saying, “My decision to renew the contact with Birkirkara FC was a normal thing. At the end of the season, I took some time to consider every possible opportunity for the future, but at the end of all these possibilities, the best of them was to return to this club.

“The last six months passed really quickly. It was a great experience for me. I made new friends, new team-mates who accepted me in the dressing room, like a big family. I felt really good and it wasn't a problem to come back. All in all, I think I had some good performances, while in other matches I think I could have done better. There is room for improvement and this is something that pushes me forward to work harder for my goals.”

Fresh from a historical UEFA Europa League campaign, the Stripes are ambitious for the upcoming Premier League. Mislav told us, “I know in which club I am. I know that Birkirkara are always looking for honours and I hope that this year we can achieve it. So as a part of this team, I pledge to give my best in every match, and step by step we will be in a position we are all looking for. It would be great to win the league and the trophy.”

Andelkovic concluded with a message to the supporters, “This will be a long season and like always we need your support when we are winning but also when we are losing. As a family, with the same effort we can pass over every obstacle which will be in front of us in this long journey. I wish and I hope that together will be happy in the end.”
