Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team shared the spoils with Pieta Hotspurs FC in a 1-1 draw in a match from the APS Bank Under-17's League Section A.

The Stripes were the superior side throughout the eighty minutes of play but did not manage to translate their possession into goals. On the other hand, Pieta contained Birkirkara by re-grouping into their half pitch and attempting to hit on the counter attack.

Pieta surged ahead with a fine header from a corner but the Stripes levelled the score moments later by an own goal following a shot by Ayrton Attard. The Stripes pushed forward for the victory but the score remained unchanged.

By this result, the Stripes completed their first-round commitments with fourteen points from seven matches. They are in the second place, one point under leaders St. Andrew's FC and point over Mosta FC.

The Stripes will be involved in the next match, the first match of the second round, against San Gwann on Sunday, 22 January. The match will be played at the Sirens Grounds and it will kick off at 08:30.
