Birkirkara take on Mosta

by Ayrton Galea - 1st April 2017

Birkirkara FC will be seeking to return to winning ways in the BOV Premier League when this evening they will take on Mosta FC.

The Stripes dropped two precious points in the last match, when they were unable to defeat Sliema Wanderers and settled for a 1-1 draw. This was the second draw in four matches for them, as they were held in a 2-2 draw by St. Andrew's in the first match of the final round.

Birkirkara once again slipped to the fifth place, and they are now nine points behind Valletta and one point behind Floriana. Valletta and Floriana will go head-to-head in the derby match on Sunday evening.

On the other hand, Mosta appointed Johann Scicluna as their new head coach, as he replaced Coach Zsolt Hornyák. The Blues are second from bottom, two points over Pembroke Athleta and they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Gzira United in their last match.

Coach Nikola Jaros will be boosted with the return of forward Gonzalo Malan. Mosta will be without the services of Pedro Dos Santos Calcado, as the latter must serve a one-match ban.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 18:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 17:15.

Come on the Stripes!
