Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team clinched the Under-17's Knock-Out on Sunday morning, when they defeated Balzan FC with a comfortable 4-0 score, thanks to a goal each by Sebastian Grech, Ayrton Attard, Briam Mifsud and Michele Vella.

The Stripes broke the dead-lock after twenty minutes. Ayrton Attard dribbled past two opponents down the right flank and served Sebastian Grech who slotted the ball past the Balzan custodian with a fine effort.

Birkirkara doubled the lead two minutes later. Paul Mbong was floored inside the box, and the referee ordered the penalty. From the spot, Attard made no mistake.

The Stripes continued to dictate matters, boosted by two goals in quick succession, and they made them three on the thirty-sixth minute. Briam Mifsud headed a powerful header home from a corner to put the Stripes in a comfortable lead.

Birkirkara scored the fourth goal ten minutes inside the second half with a fine action. Carlo Zammit Lonardelli won possession and served Paul Mbong, who the latter served Michele Vella with an eye-catching back-heel, and Vella beat the Balzan goalkeeper with a fine up-rising shot.

Youth Football Association Vice-President Robert Attard presented the cup to Captain Ayrton Attard at the end of the match.
