Melania Bajada appointed Women's Team Coach

by Ayrton Galea - 5th June 2017

Birkirkara FC has appointed Ms. Melania Bajada as the Women's Team Coach, on a three-year contract. Bajada, who recently obtained a UEFA 'B' Coaching License, will be the first female Women's Team Coach of our Club.

Melania, who is considered as one of the most promising coaches, will be bringing with her years of coaching experience as she has been the Women's Team Coach and the Women's Under-17's Team Coach of Gozo FC for several years. The twenty-eighth year old coach is still fresh from winning the Women Under-17's League and the Women Under-17's Knock-Out

Bajada will also be monitoring closely the Women Under-17's Team in order to achieve one of the team's objectives, namely that of developing its own players for the senior squad.

The first official commitment of our Club under her guidance will be in the UEFA Women's Champions League, which will be played between the 22 and 28 August. The draws will be held on the 23 June.

Bajada will be replacing Coach Shawn Meilak, who had joined our Club last summer.

We would like to welcome Melania while we would like to wish her all the best of luck in her adventure with our Club. On the other hand, the Club would like to thank Shawn for his sterling service towards our Club and would like to wish him all the best of luck in the future
