Women's Team in UWCL qualifying round

Birkirkara FC will be one out of the forty teams in the qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League as all participating clubs have been confirmed. The draw will be held on Friday, 23 June in Nyon, Switzerland.

This will be Birkirkara's fifth participation in the UEFA Women's Champions League. They took part in Season 2007-2008, Season 2009-2010, Season 2012-2013 and Season 2013-2014. However, in Season 2007-2008, the competition was still known as the UEFA Women's Cup.

The qualifying round will see forty teams taking part, and it will be composed of ten groups of four teams each. The teams have been set in four different positions according to their co-efficient and the group will be composed from one team from each position.

There are ten hosting clubs for the qualifying round which are Apollon Ladies FC (Cyprus), Olimpia Cluj-Napoca (Romania), WFC SFK 2000 Sarajevo (Bosnia), MTK Hungaria FC (Hungary), ZNK Osijek (Croatia), Parnu Jalgpalliklubi (Estonia), ZNK Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia, ZFK Breznica (Montenegro), Linfield Ladies (Northern Ireland), FC Martve (Georgia).

However, Breznica, Linfield and Martve are in the same fourth position as Birkirkara, and therefore the Stripes can't be drawn against these teams. Thus, leaving the possible destination of the Stripes of their fifth participation to the first seven countries.
