Birkirkara FC signs goalkeeper David Cassar

by Ivan Mizzi - 11th July 2017

Birkirkara FC completed their fifth signing this summer, when just a few moments ago, experienced goalkeeper David Cassar signed a two-year contract with our Club.

The twenty-nine year old goalkeeper needs no introduction to Maltese football as he has played over 100 matches in the top division. During the last season, he was the regular goalkeeper for Hamrun Spartans FC, where he made twenty-four appearances.

David, whose vast experience in the top division will certainly help a relatively young squad, becomes the latest signing and he is the second addition for a place between the posts, after Philip Schranz returns from a one season loan to form part of the squad.

During his career, David has also played for Pieta Hotspurs and Tarxien Rainbows in the BOV Premier League, before joining Hamrun Spartans in Season 2015-2016 where he was one of the protagonist that helped the Reds win the promotion for the top division

We would like to welcome David while wishing him all the best of luck in his adventure with our Club.
