Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team returned to winning ways and strengthened their position on top of the Under-17's League, as a penalty by Paul Mbong was enough to beat Mosta FC with a narrow 1-0 score.

The Stripes enjoyed an edge over their opponents. Sebastian Grech and Ethan Lethridge both went close in the opening moments but their efforts were saved by goalkeeper Dylan Ciappara. Owen Sciberras was wide with a whisker on the twenty-sixth minute, while Calvin Mallia's shot from inside the box ended over the bar, as the first-half ended goal-less.

Birkirkara kept pushing forward after the break. The Stripes seemed to have taken the lead on the fifty-eighth minute when Sebastian Grech's shot looked that have crossed the goal-line but the assistant referee kept his flag down.

However, the Stripes notched the all-important winning goal just past the hour mark. Mallia was floored inside the box and the referee ordered the penalty. From the spot, Paul Mbong made no mistake.
