Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. Valletta FC

by Ayrton Galea - 25th February 2018

Birkirkara FC and Valletta FC will be involved in the match of the week of the BOV Premier League, as the arch-rivals will cross swords in the big-match this afternoon.

The Stripes and the Lilywhites, the two sides that dominated the Maltese football with their classic matches will go head-to-head in a match that could give an indication of who will be the second challenger of the BOV Premier League title.

Birkirkara are on an impressive run, as they are coming from eleven wins in a row in both the BOV Premier League and the FA Trophy. In their last match, the Stripes secured their place in the last four of the FA Trophy with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Qrendi FC.

There are four points separating the two sides and it's no wonder that stakes are high for this match. Valletta are unbeaten in their last league seven matches, while they also made it to the Semi-Final of the FA Trophy thanks to a 2-0 victory over Zejtun Corinthians FC.

The Stripes are expected to be in full-squad. Kurt Zammit and Terence Agius are both match-fit after not being selected with the eighteen-man squad last week for the FA Trophy match.

The match will be involved at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 16:00. Transport from Valley Road will leave at 14:30.

The Club would like to encourage all the Birkirkara supporters to come to the stadium and support the team while showing respect to their opponents. Racism has no place anywhere, but especially not in football.

Come on the Stripes!
