Nick Borg: 'Birkirkara FC is my second family'

Birkirkara FC Youth Academy product Nick Borg feels that Birkirkara FC is like his second family for him, as he has been playing with this Club since a very young age. The talented player shared his views in a short interview, following his BOV Premier League debut in the last match.

Nick opened by saying, “First of all, I would to start this interview by thanking Coach Mr. Paul Zammit who showed his trust in my potential. This debut in the BOV Premier League means a lot to me. I consider this debut as the first step to continue working and improving my capabilities.”

He added, “This debut was an emotional moment for me. I would like to thank all my coaches that I have worked with as they have all helped me to reach this stage. I would like to mention my grandad, Charlie Sciberras, also known as ‘Il-Fly', for his continuous support”

Nick has been playing with our Club since an early age and the promising youngster makes it clear what this Club means for him. “Birkirkara FC is my second family for me. I have been here since a very young age and it is a big honour every time I wear this beloved shirt.”

The technical midfielder is enjoying a satisfactory season, like the rest of his team. “We're playing very good in the Youths League Section A. I really hope that if we keep this pace, we get what we deserve. From a personal side, I believe that I'm playing well and I'm doing my utmost effort to help the team.”

Nick concluded this interview by revealing his targets for the future. “My targets are to continue working hard as much as possible, as only by working hard will give me the possibility to reach the top level in Maltese football.”
