Match Preview: Birkirkara FC vs. Valletta FC

by Ayrton Galea - 16th September 2018

Birkirkara FC will be back in action in the BOV Premier League, following the international break, as the Stripes will take on rivals Valletta FC in the most attractive fixture of matchday three.

The Stripes collected maximum points from their first two outings, thanks to two narrow victories. In the opening match, they defeated Balzan FC with a narrow 1-0 score, while they had to come back from behind to defeat Pieta Hotspurs FC with a 2-1 score.

On the other hand, the Citizens had a shocking disappointing start as they conceded back-to-back defeats in their first two matches. The defending champions suffered a 3-0 defeat against Sliema Wanderers and a 2-1 defeat against Hibernians FC.

Both teams were active in the last days of the summer transfer market. The Stripes completed the signing of the Under-21's National Team player Myles Beerman, while the Citizens made a statement of intent when they captured the signing of Bojan Kaljevic from Balzan FC.

Coach Paul Zammit will be unable to field his best formation as defender Cain Attard is suspended, after he was sent off in the last match against Pieta Hotspurs FC.

The match will be played at the National Stadium and it will kick off at 20:00.

Come on the Stripes!
