100th BOV Premier League match for Terence Agius

by Ayrton Galea - 27th September 2018

Birkirkara FC midfielder Terence Agius played his 100th BOV Premier League last Sunday in the 2-0 victory over Floriana FC. The versatile midfielder shares his views on this remarkable feat.

The twenty-four-year-old midfielder is enjoying his second season with our Club, following joining our Club in the previous January Transfer Market on loan. He joined our Club on a permanent move this summer.

His 100th appearance in the BOV Premier League could hardly be better for him as once again he started the match and the Stripes emerged victorious with a 2-0 score. This victory saw the Stripes getting back to winning ways.

Terence opened this interview by saying, “I am very happy that I managed to reach this milestone with an important win for the club last Sunday. Ironically, my 1st game in the BOV Premier League was against Birkirkara ending up losing the game. My 100th was playing for Birkirkara which ended up with a win, so I guess, if you can't beat them join them!”

The Stripes earned their third victory in four matches thanks to a hard-fought match and Terence believes that the team got what it deserves for keeping believing till the end. “We were prepared and determined to get the three points and we showed our intentions from the start. We were controlling the game, but we found an organised team that defended very well. The team believed and kept going and at the end we got what we deserved.”

For Terence, his start against Floriana was his second consecutive one following starting the match against Valletta, and the hard-working midfielder commented on his performances. “I am gaining confidence game by game with the help of the coaches and my team mates. Coming back from an operation followed by 3 months rehab was not easy but all the hard work seemed to pay off.”

Birkirkara's next match is anything than easy, as they will take on the only remaining unbeaten side, Gzira United. “Our aim for every game is to win, regardless who the opposing team is. We are aware of Gzira's strengths, but if we concentrate on our game I believe that we can continue our positive start.”

Terence concluded this interview by urging all the supporters to support the team. “It is not just words when we say that the supporters are our 12th man. I urge every Birkirkara supporter to be there and support us next Sunday. Your support throughout those 90 minutes truly makes a difference.”
