Interview with Carlos Chavarria

by Ayrton Galea - 5th October 2018

Nicaragua International Forward Carlos Chavarria made his much-awaited debut last Sunday. The rapid-winger produced his first assist with our Club but suffered an ankle injury close to the hour mark in his first appearance.

Carlos joined our Club in July 2018, in what was the first move in Europe for the twenty-four-year-old forward. Following not featuring in the first four matches of the BOV Premier League, he made his debut last Sunday in the 2-1 defeat against Gzira United FC.

We opened this interview with Chavarria by talking on his performance. “I felt good, but I'm always looking for improvement. We work very hard everyday to continue improve our football potential to be able to help the team with the best performances.”

On his first experience in Malta, he said, “I'm adapting very well in Malta. It is a very beautiful country with nice people. I'm feeling very good with the team. the language is a bit of a problem for me, but I am practice it and trying my best to learn it as soon as possible.”

Chavarria was substituted close to the hour mark after he sustained a sprained ankle. His injury is not serious, but he is in doubt for tomorrow's match. More than that, there are concerns if he will be eligible for Nicaragua's next match of the Nations League against Anguilla on the 14 October.

He concluded this interview by revealing his objectives. “I came to Birkirkara FC to improve professionally and to live a new experience. My aim is to be the league-champion and to give my best when representing these colours. I would like to thank the supporters for their support while promising them that we are always working very hard to reach our goals.”
