BOV Women's League - Birkirkara FC 4-0 Raiders FC

Birkirkara FC Women's Team extended their perfect start in the BOV Women's League when they made them four wins in four matches as they defeated Raiders FC with a comfortable 4-0 score.

The Stripes made sure to face title-challengers Mgarr United FC next week in sole-leadership as they produced a magnificent attacking display to condemn Raiders FC to their first defeat thanks to a goal each by Ylenia Carabott, Kailey Willis, Stephania Farrugia and Raina Giusti.

The team led by Melania Bajada dictated matters right from the start and their superiority paid off on the twenty-second minute. Raina Giusti served Ylenia Carabott who hit a thunderous shot from outside the box that gave the goalkeeper no chance. This was her second goal in two matches.

The Stripes doubled the lead six minutes later. It was another forward, Kailey Willis, who doubled Birkirkara's lead as the fifteen-year-old forward unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that surprised the Raiders goalkeeper.

Birkirkara made them three on the thirty-second minute. Willis was floored inside the box and the referee ordered the penalty. From the spot, BOV Player of the Month for October, Stephania Farrugia made no mistake.

The Stripes added their fourth goal on the fifty-third minute. Ann-Marie Said unzipped the defence with a perfect through-ball towards rapid-winger Raina Giusti who controlled the ball, dashed inside the box and calmly placed the ball at the back of the net.

With the three points beyond any doubt, the Stripes comfortably controlled their lead with Raiders trying to push more forward for a consolation goal. Late in the match, Carabott almost made them five, but her shot from an in-direct free-kick from inside the box rattled the crossbar.
