Svraka: Birkirkara FC matches my ambitions perfectly

by Ayrton Galea - 2nd January 2019

Club's latest signing Muamer Svraka believes that Birkirkara FC matches his personal ambitions perfectly while he has already set sights on winning silverware and securing a place in European competitions, as the Bosnian midfielder spoke exclusively to the club's official website.

The signing of Svraka promises to be an exciting one for the Stripes. Still fresh from a wonderful season with FC Levadia of Estonia, the thirty-year-old midfielder will bring with him fresh options in the midfield thanks to capability of playing in different positions, match-vision and powerful shots.

Svraka felt confident on settle with our Club quickly, despite knowing little so far on our country. “I have heard of Malta before, but I have little information about the country so far. Through my experience, I'm sure that I won't need much time to adapt.”

His last experience with the Estonian club has been a striking one as he has won the Estonian Super Cup and the Estonian Cup, while finishing runners-up in the Meistriliiga, the highest division league. Svraka was a key-player by making thirty-three appearances and scoring thirteen goals.

Following this positive experience, it was no surprise that several clubs were after his signature, particularly with Clubs from Bosna-Herzegovina, Korea and Thailand but it was the Stripes who won the signature of the versatile midfielder.

Svraka said, “I chose Birkirkara FC because they are ambitious. I know that the position in the table is not so good, but I know that we will be challenging for silverware and a place in European competitions. I want to win silverware and play in European competitions, so the club's proposal matched perfectly with my ambitions.”

He went on by saying that spoke with Ellinton Morais, a former player of Birkirkara FC, who is now currently playing in Estonia with Nõmme Kalju FC. “Ellinton is a very good player and a very good person. We spoke before we came here, and he said great things about this club.”

Svraka concluded this interview by saying, “I hope I will be able to help the team in the best possible way. Football is a team-sport and when the team gives its maximum efforts, the results can be seen. I thank all the supporters for their welcome and encourage them to support us to reach our goals.”
