Birkirkara FC remained the only unbeaten side in the BOV Women's League, when they shared the spoils in a goal-less draw against Mgarr United FC in an entertaining top of the table clash played on Tuesday evening.

With six points to the good, the Stripes maintained their comfortable advantage and registered a precious point from this top fixture in Women's football. For the Stripes, this was the first draw following eleven consecutive victories.

In a balanced first-half, Mgarr United opened well, but the Stripes settled and began to dictate matters. Their best chance arrived three minutes before half-time, when Ylenia Carabott served Kailey Willis, but the latter's shot from an ideal position scratched past the post.

Birkirkara opened the second half with all guns blazing. Kailey Willis hit over from inside the box and Ylenia Carabott's shot ended wide by a whisker. In Birkirkara's best scoring chance, Willis saw her powerful shot from inside the box ending marginally wide, as the Stripes failed to convert their superiority into goals.
