Birkirkara FC held their Annual General Meeting for season 2018-2019 on Friday morning, at the Clubhouse.

The Annual General Meeting meant the last official day for season 2018-2019, a season that was disappointing for the Senior Team as they finished in the seventh place of the BOV Premier League and eliminated from the semi-final of the FA Trophy.

On a more positive note, the Under-19's Team won the Youths League Section A, while the Women's Team completed their third consecutive league-cup double, besides winning their first ever point in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The Club's secretary, Mr. Jonathan Friggieri, read the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting and the administrative report of the Women's Team. He added that for the first season, the Women's Team generated their own funds and praised the work of everyone involved following another successful season.

Mr. George Sammut, the Sub-Committee representative, read the report of the Sub-Committee, who for another year provided great contribution to the club throughout the entire season.

The Club's President, Mr. Frank Zarb started by thanking all the supporters, the ultras in particular, for their support throughout the entire season that has just finished. He expressed his disappointment that for the low attendance for most of the matches while he hoped for better attendances throughout the next season.

He went to talk on the club's future vision that is of helping the club to become self-sustainable by the projects planned. The president insisted that like all the supporters, he would enjoy winning silverware, but he is committed on helping the club to become self-sustainable.

Mr. Zarb mentioned the sacrifice by the people involved to buy the club's old clubhouse which can make this project possible. The president believes that the income from this project would assure enough funds for the club to remain in the top division.

Mr. Charles Bugeja, the club's vice-president and in charge of this project, went into detail of the club's plans of the old clubhouse. He explained that at present, works have stopped as the club is close to buy the property next to the old clubhouse which the club would benefit and receive more income.

Mr. Friggieri concluded the meeting, before the supporters had the opportunity to ask questions on the present situation to the club's president and all the committee members present for the Annual General Meeting.
